Liptons on the ceiling

A recent conversation with a friend reminded me of this photo, which I took three years ago:

Teabags on the ceiling of Ramallah bus station spring 09

It shows the ceiling of the ground floor of the bus station in Ramallah, where, as far as I can make out, the bored bus drivers or tea sellers must have amused themselves by seeing if they could get used teabags (Lipton’s Yellow, of course) to stick to the roof. The stains suggest that the success rate was only so-so.

Sadly, as far as I could make out in passing on a recent visit, neither this entrance to the bus station nor the tea bag display are still existent. It appears to have been closed off and turned into an extra bit of shopping mall, another victim of the rapid glitzification of Ramallah city centre.

    Another sad story from Ramallah!
On a second note, I liked what you wrote, keep going on.
