'Swishing' and stitching

A while ago, I wrote about the commercialisation and appropriation of clothes swaps parties, from homegrown opportunities for women to get together and use non-commercial ways to renew their wardrobes to scary-sounding events shilling new alcoholic drinks in glitzy bars. So it’s nice to see this event in Manchester on November 16th, which brings together clothes swapping with The Story of Stuff, a short animated film looking at the amount of crap we produce and then throw away, and some little workshops on how to adjust and mend clothes.
